Brave New Films Releases Short Film Showing Marco Rubio's Brazen Hypocrisy on Immigration Reform
A new film-short highlighting Republican presidential candidate and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s hypocrisy on immigration reform is being shown in a handful of states on the eve of the first GOP presidential debate.
The two-minute film, The Real Rubio, from Brave New Films Action Fund, which is headed by award-winning director Robert Greenwald, uses the candidate's own words to show his reversal on immigration reform. A shorter 30-second version is being released as a commercial to bring awareness to Latino voters and the general voting public about Rubio’s hypocrisy.
"We aren't interested in promoting any particular candidate; what we care about are the issues at stake," Greenwald said. “Thus, we are interested in holding candidates accountable for their actions in issue areas that have a meaningful impact on the shape of this country. Immigration is one of those areas. We need someone who will bring the immigration issue to the table in an impactful way and fight for better policies. Rubio parades around as that person, but his record says otherwise."
Several state and local groups are already using the film, including Battle Born Progress, Progress Now Texas, the Delaware DREAM Team, Together Colorado, and the Council Minority for Student Affairs.
