Watch: Key and Peele Made a Feminist Pirate Shanty and It's Hilarious

After suffering through weeks of white men complaining how political correctness is "ruining comedy" (read: "people have stopped laughing at my jokes"), the Key and Peele Show's latest viral bit involving pirates singing a catchy feminist shanty offered a much-needed respite, showing that comedy can be both funny and inclusive. The bit, simple in premise, is a classic pirate shanty that stops short of the typical rape-y lyrics but instead offers "political correct" advice on how to respect women and their choices.

Aside from the wonderful art direction and songwriting, the bit works because of the inherent absurdity of genre-mixing at work. 

"I once met a lass so fine. She was drunk on barley wine. I’d been at sea for months a three. I knew I could make her mine. And the lass was past consent! So it was off with her we went," pirate Jordan Peele belts out.
