Bill Maher Slams ‘A**hole’ Major Garrett: 'Why Don’t You Just Yell the N-word?'

On Wednesday, CBS News White House correspondent Major Garrett confronted President Barack Obama in a testy exchange regarding the Iran nuclear deal, asking Obama why he was “content” to allow U.S. prisoners to remain jailed in Iran.

The president responded with some heat, telling the former Fox News reporter that he should “know better” than to ask a snide, politically loaded question in a formal briefing session.

Garrett defended himself from critics on Wednesday, saying, “Was it provocative? Yes. Was it intended to be as such? Absolutely.” And from the president’s response, he said it was clear that he had “struck a nerve.”

HBO host Bill Maher chimed in shortly thereafter on Twitter.
