WATCH: Jon Stewart Flattens Rolling Stone - 'You Found the One Rape Story that Set the Cause Back'

Media

Rolling Stone magazine has compounded its error with the now infamous UVA rape story with its bogus reaction to the report of its journalistic failures in reporting, editing and publishing it.

Jon Stewart lambasted the magazine's owner, Jann Wenner, Wednesday night on the Daily Show for saying no one would be fired because: "The report is punishment enough."

Stewart's reply: "What? The report is just the list of crimes. You're missing the all-important sentencing phase."

The horror of the debacle is that it has dealt such a blow to the cause of dealing with the problem of campus rape. "This is not a gaffe, a brain fart or an oopsy daisy," Stewart said. "In a sea of verifiable rape stories you found the 'Where's Waldo' of rape stories and set the cause back."

Shame, shame.
