WATCH: Stephen Colbert's Brilliant Takedown of Police Militarization

The world woke up to the fact that American police have been armedto the teeth for combat operations during the recent unrest in Missouri, and Stephen Colbert, being the good conservative that he is, fully supports it. Lampooning the fact that local police, sometimes in pretty sleepy places, have things like armored personnel carriers, he explained that, "It's all part of the Pentagon's 'take a tank, leave a tank' program.

Ever since 9/11, surveillance cameras have been installed everywhere, even defunct lighthouses, the comedian pointed out. "Take that Bin Laden," Colbert said, shaking his fist.

And thank goodness Keane, NH is now equipped with a $286,000 BearKat to protect the world's premiere pumpkin festival. "Seriously, have you heard of another one?" Colbert asked.
