Woman Posts Confession on YouTube of High School Teacher Who Sexually Abused Her
A former student’s video on YouTube accusing a former gym teacher of sexual molestation has forced the teacher to resign from her post as assistant principal at a California high school.
The video was a recording of the conversation the former student had with her former abuser.
On Friday, Jamie Carillo posted the video account of her phone conversation with Andrea Cardosa, who was the assistant principal at Alhambra High School in California. On the call, Carillo says, “Do you realize that you brainwashed me, and you manipulated me, and that what you did was wrong?" Cardosa does not deny molesting her, and said that she “regrets” doing it. Carillo told the news outlet KTLA that she put the video up because she wanted to let people know what kind of person was working with children.
According to KTLA, Carillo says that “Cardosa began sexually molesting her when she was just 12 years old. She said it started with the coach kissing her in the locker room, and progressed to the point where the coach was taking her on out-of-town trips to have sex with her.”
A link to the video was sent to the high school administration, who turned it over to the police. Cardosa has since resigned.
Carillo says that the statute of limitations on her case could be up under California law, but that posting the phone call has helped her personally.
