After CA Woman Finds Razor Blade in Her Burger, Investigation Reveals It's a Wonder More People Don't Find Similar Surprises

It's a good thing 46-year-old Yolanda Orozco does not wolf her burgers down. When she gingerly tucked into her Burker King cheeseburger to check for onions, she found something with a bit more bite to it between the burger and the cheese: a razor blade. Understandably, hte Mendocino County resident told USA Today, "I was in shock."

Local police officers initially thought her claim might be a hoax, but, nope, sure enough, officers found a razor blade in between the buns. Further investigation indicated that no one intentionally put a razor blade in Orozco's burger, so no criminal wrongdoing. More disturbingly, there are just lots of razor blades sitting around, near food preparation areas at this particular Burger King in WIllits, CA. Staff told investigators that single-edged razor blades are used for cleaning, scraping up all that grease, no doubt, and they were found near condiments, above warming trays (!!!) and, basically everywhere.

Burger King's corporate spokesperson defended the company's food safety procedures, and said it was up to franchisees to make sure procedures are followed.

Orozco said she has been contacted by the company to see "what she wants" in the way of a settlement. Probably not burgers. "Right now, I am just really paranoid," she said.
