Colbert's Advice to GOP: "Since Women Got the Right to Vote, Rape's Approval Rating Has Plummeted"

Last night, Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert reluctantly updated his "Days Without a GOP Rape Comment" chart after Indiana senate candidate Richard Mourdock declared that even rape-caused pregnancies are a gift from God. The comments not only offended voters, Colbert reported, but also God, who doesn't like to think of himself as such a terrible gift giver.  Colbert added Mourdock to the GOP "Team Rape," which Colbert acknowledged was a name the extreme conservatives probably wouldn't like, but contended, "Come on, they're kind of asking for it."

Meanwhile, he added some helpful advice to his fellow GOP cohorts who might be considering also coming out with their extremist opinions on rape and abortion.

"You might not be aware of this, but in 1920 women got the right to vote. And since then, among likely voters rape's approval rating has plummeted."
