Thomas Frank Talks to Joshua Holland About the 'Hard-Times Swindle' and the Unlikely Comeback of the Right
February 07, 2012Economy
On Sunday, we were proud to debut the AlterNet Radio Hour, hosted by Joshua Holland, on We Act Radio in Washington DC. It's a weekly show featuring progressive journalists, activists and maybe a few wonks.
Among our first guests was Thomas Frank, a columnist with Harper's and author of the 2005 best-seller, What's the Matter With Kansas, and his new book, Pity the Billionaire.Â
In the podcast below, which runs about 16 minutes, Frank and Holland discuss the great bait-and-switch that allowed the right to bounce back after conservative economic policies led directly to the greatest downturn since the Great Depression.
