Quality, Effective, Universal Health Coverage

Quality, effective, universal health-coverage would radically effect the lives of almost everyone I know. $1500 stimulus check? No thanks. It's not even a drop in the bucket for families being swept away by the tide of ever-rising premiums, pre-existing conditions, medical bills and the constant nagging fear that if something happens to one of us we may bankrupt our entire extended families just to try and save a life.

If Obama wants to truly and fundamentally change our economy, we all need to be covered %100 -- European style. He can help educate the American public about what life is like in those countries by expelling fears of "socialism," "rationing," "mandates," higher taxes and long lines. If people here could truly understand the quality of life enjoyed by most average working folks in countries like France, England and Spain they would beg for universal coverage.

There is no price to be put on removing the fear that most of us live with -- a perpetual undercurrent of fear that something will happen to us or our loved ones and we will be unable to afford to help them or ourselves.

Give us healthcare then give us lightrail!
