Obama Should Keep His Promises
December 04, 2008News & Politics
Of course, everyone wants the economy "fixed," the war ended, etc. I want him to make good on important promises: on the first day, stop torture. Close Guantanamo. Announce that he will meet with Cuba's Raul Castro to lift the embargo. When President Clinton told the people he would allow gays without prejudice into the military, and in his first days instituted "Don't ask, Don't tell," he immediately announced to the world that he was a wimp who could be coerced or bought. Please, Obama, stand strong against those in power who will try to bully you.
