Build Safe and Reliable Infrastructure
My advise for the President-Elect Obama is as follows: We need safe, reliable and secure infrastructure; much of our Nation's infrastructure is crumbing and cannot sufficiently perform at its capacity. Of the key, critical sectors (energy, water and transportation, including chemical), in most circumstances there are little or no resiliency plans for our infrastructure. Additionally, industrial control systems that run, operate, monitor and maintain these key, critical sectors, and are outdated, inadequate, insecure, and prone to frequent outages (operational, intentional, natural disasters). Improved communications through public/private partnerships and better information sharing methodologies, less bureaucracies, and more commitments from industry, are vitally necessary to the success of our infrastructure.
