Jon Stewart on Pope Ratz [VIDEO]

Kevin Drum links approvingly to this Daily Show clip of Jon Stewart discussing the Pope's anti-Islamic gaffe.

The pope's defenders have argued that he wasn't enorsing the passage he quoted. No, they insist, he just happened to mention that a 14th century Byzantine Emperor claimed that Mohammed had brought nothing but evil.

So, was the Pope's speech hostile to Muslims? Maybe if you considered the quote in the context of the pope's larger argument.... Stewart paraphases the pope's argument succinctly: Mohammed was a violent man. Violence is unreasonable. God loves reason. Draw your own conclusions.

Sounds pretty hostile to me.
