Bush losing the red states

CBS News visited Jacksonville, North Carolina, a Republican stronghold and home of the largest Marine Corps base on the East Coast. Support for the troops remains high, but support for the President is at a low.

Lifelong conservatives are ready to "vote Democrat across the board."

In this video clip Marine Col. Jim Van Riper, a conservative Christian and member of the NRA who voted for President Bush twice, has some strong words for the president:

"I've turned him off. I've tuned him out… They did it their way, they failed and they won't admit it. That's arrogance, and I don't mind arrogance, except when there's dead bodies as a result.
I've voted Republican nearly all my life. I'm very conservative. My hope is that Democrats win the House.
I had a son there. I have a nephew there now, it's personal."
