President seizes 43-foot cross for federal gov.

Pam Spaulding reports on a bold move by President Bush to seize land from the City of Sand Diego--the land underneath the 43-foot cross on atop Mount Soledad overlooking the city.

Residents have bickering over the fate for nearly two decades. The matter has been in and out of court for 17 years.

Now, President Bush has signed a bill declaring the cross a national war memorial and placing the monument under the control of the Department of Defense.

Nice to see the President is attending to matters of pressing national concern.
