Israeli Orthodox call for ceasefire
Some interesting developments in the Israeli anti-war movement. As Muslim protests erupt all over the world -- reaffirming the idiocy of Bush's and Israel's drunken rage tactics for the zillionth time -- a motley crew of anti war voices have assembled.
First, there's the insular and self-interested voices of the Orthodox Degel Hatorah political party and the ultra-Orthodox Lithuanian community in Israel, both of whom are calling for a ceasefire.
Sure, it's because "Jewish blood is being spilled," and not because it's stupid tactics mixed with an incredible irreverence for human life in general -- but whatever, it's for a ceasefire.
Then there's the 3-5000 strong protests in Tel Aviv; a mix of Arab Israelis and left wing Jews (See video, right).
