Footage of bombed-out Beirut
August 02, 2006
In this clip, courtesy of Link TV's Mosaic, Beirut's Future TV shows news footage of the bombed-out city and compares it to Stalingrad at the end of WWII.
"Today the southern suburbs [of Beirut] have a very different image. Israeli aggression has changed it's features completely with the tons of missiles that Israeli plans have dumped from the sky or the ones that were launched from naval ships from the sea…. One is overwhelmed by shock and astonishment as he roams the streets of the suburbs. Today destruction is everywhere and the rubble is in every neighborhood… people are being very cautious as plans hover in the sky…. This suburb, which was known for its bustling activity, is now a historical site. Perhaps reminding us of the forgotten city of Stalingrad which confronted the Nazi's during WWII."
