War by proxy: US/Israel vs. Iran/Hezbollah

On Meet the Press, Tim Russert asks White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten if the crisis between Israel and Hezbollah is really just a war by proxy between the US and Iran.

Bolten is careful not to call it a proxy war, but he is clear about the fact that "Iran bares a substantial burden of responsibility for the despicable behavior of Hezbollah and needs to be held to account."

And with the US now actively accelerating weapons shipments to Israel and encouraging Israel to eliminate Hezbollah, it certainly appears that this is a classic proxy war.

If Hezbollah = Iran and the US = Israel, well, you do the math.
