On the reporting of an AP article that pulls less than 250 words from a 4000+ word speech, progressives are getting bent out of shape over Barack Obama's speech at Sojourners magazine's Call to Renewal conference.

Sojourners is a progressive evangelical magazine -- the conference is an attempt to build a movement to overcome poverty by uniting religious organizations.

The speech, they claim, is merely an echo of Republican talking points that Democrats fear/hate/are uncomfortable with religion and that Democrats and progressives must pander to conservative Christians as an electoral strategy. These are, perhaps, logical conclusions from reading the AP story.
