He's progressive, he's an economist … and he has a blog!

In February, Jan had an odd post that gave me a geeky kick. It heaped praise on Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and his newsletter, The Economic Reporting Review. Baker's a darn good thinker and has a knack for explaining complex things in ways that even yours truly can figure out.

Well it turns out that Jan's kudos may be the kiss of death: The Economic Reporting Review, after something like seven years, is no more.

But no need to despair, because Dean Baker's got a blog! Beat The Press is going to be a must-read for those who want to sort out the routine distortions -- intentional and otherwise -- the corporate media engage in when reporting on all things economic.
