Bush's tax guru, Grover Norquist...

Cross-posted in PEEK and the Mix.

Grover Norquist, head of Americans for Tax Reform, perhaps best known for his "starve the beast" mentality that government should be small enough to "drown it in a bathtub," seems to be doing his part personally. He forgot to pay his property taxes, according to Campaign for a Cleaner Congress via Raw Story.

He owes nearly $4,000 (including late fees) on his DC townhouse for the first half of the fiscal year.

My personal favorite Norquist-ism occurred on Fresh Air a couple years back when he rattled the implacable Terry Gross by comparing the "logic" of opposing the estate tax to the Holocaust. Noting how few are even effected by it, Norquist responds:
Norquist: ... I mean, that's the morality of the Holocaust. 'Well, it's only a small percentage,' you know. 'I mean, it's not you, it's somebody else.'
Terry Gross: Excuse me. Excuse me one second. Did you just ...

Grover Norquist: Yeah?
Terry Gross: … compare the estate tax with the Holocaust?
Grover Norquist: No, the morality that says it's OK to do something to do a group because they're a small percentage of the population is the morality that says that the Holocaust is OK because they didn't target everybody, just a small percentage.
