Give Russ Feingold a boost ...

Evan wrote about Russ Feingold's call for censure of President Bush for illegally eavesdropping on Americans without a warrant.

As he pointed out, supporting Feingold -- who's going to face a thrashing from the Republicans, from the establishment media and of course from the sweaty right-wing wank-o-sphere -- is the latest "netroots" campaign, and one we should all take a few minutes to support.

It's part of an emerging effort among grass-roots progressives to inject some back-bone into the Dems. When legislators know that there are constituents out there that have their backs, they're much more likely to discover some stones.

On-line communities -- like the blogs, like AlterNet -- are great for organizing citizen action. We have the potential to be much more than an ATM machine for politicians who turn around and ignore us after they win.
