Dirty 'old' Democrat

The pathetic and offensive actions of former Maryland gov and current Comptroller William Donald Schaefer, are all over the blogs.

And for good reason. Upon receiving a cup of tea from the gov's administrative aide, this took place: "After watching her ass intently as she walked away, he motioned for her to come back and said, 'Walk again,' in front of the other 100 people present."

Which is humiliating and gross. He then picked up his foot and promptly rammed it into his mouth by saying that "this little girl [should be] happy that I observed her going out the door." He's the humiliated one.

All sickening, and he's got a past... But what I find interesting is that from headlines like "Dirty Old Man of the Year" to "84 year old pig," a number of bloggers felt the need to highlight his age.

I understand that this kind of unapologetic sexism tends to be associated with a bygone era of cigar chomping, blustery boyz-clubberz, but is there just a whiff of ewww, and the guy's OLD too!? (Feministing, SteveGilliard)
