Eating Canadian crow...

When you read polls, analyze the political lay of the land and try to predict what's going to happen in the future, sometimes you're going to screw the pooch.

If you're a real man or a real woman, you fess up to it. So let me say that it looks like I was wrong a month and a half ago when I wrote that the Liberals were going to hold on in Canada's upcoming elections despite being mired in the country's worst financial scandal ever.

Reuters:

The Strategic Counsel poll for The Globe and Mail showed the Conservatives had the support of 38 percent of adult Canadians with the Liberals far behind on 28 percent.
The figures strongly suggest the Conservatives of Stephen Harper -- who were five points behind the Liberals when the campaign began in late November -- would win a majority government after 12 years in opposition.
The poll I cited in November had the Libs up by nine. And that Harper is so slimy.

Anyway, I wanted to appeal to our many Canadian readers to put in their two cents about the question of the day: just what the heck is going on up there?

Is Canada moving to the right? Did the Libs run a horrible, uninspiring campaign, as many have charged? And who will the Tories team up with to make a government?

Inquiring minds want to know.

One last thing (and this isn't really on topic): Did you know that four in ten Americans support annexing Canada? I shit you not, you can look it up.
