Alito Roll Call

While it's undoubtedly time to move on and highlight the outrageous Bush Spy Scandal -- "his attempt to Cut and Run from the Constitution" -- it is worth remembering who voted which way in the Alito debacle.

Below are yesterday's tally, essentially: for or against the filibuster; followed by today's vote to confirm or not confirm Alito.

The second vote being a formality it's worth pointing out which 16 senators voted NO on Alito but really only for next year's campaign literature, as they refused to support the filibuster. As far as our nation, your rights, and integrity are concerned, they may as well have voted YES. They are, undoubtedly, as AlterNet's Rights and Liberties editor Rachel Neumann calls them, Spineless Cake Eaters:

  • Akaka (HI)
  • Baucus (MT)
  • Bingaman, N.M.
  • Cantwell, Wash.
  • Carper, Del.
  • Dorgan, N.D.
  • Inouye, Hawaii
  • Kohl, Wis.
  • Landrieu, La.
  • Lieberman, Conn.
  • Lincoln, Ark.
  • Nelson, Fla.
  • Pryor, Ark.
  • Rockefeller, W.Va.
  • Salazar, Colo.
  • Chafee (RI)
