Holocaust denier arrested in Austria

News & Politics

In America you can hatch up any denial you like about the Nazi holocaust, write about it, travel around and speechify, and find a loyal following. In the case of disgraced British historian and WWII "revisionist" David Irving, it even earned him dinner at Christopher Hitchens' house. As Max Blumenthal pointed out, Hitchens went so far as to deny that Irving was a denier, overlooking statements by Irving like, "The holocaust of Germans in Dresden really happened. That of the Jews in the gas chambers of Auschwitz is an invention."

But in Austria, it's a crime to deny the Nazi holocaust. And David Irving has been arrested for pushing the denial story, and could face up to 20 years in prison.

As you might guess, the racists are restless. From Neil Camberly at the white nationalist National Vanguard:

This roundup of revisionist activists and honest holocaust scholars seems so telling and contrary to Jewish strategic interests that it would conform to the standards of their historic Achilles' heel: vengeance at any cost. But like a canary in a mineshaft, it may constitute a strategic precaution against Gentile mobilization in the face of an advancing global shakeup, and its attendant implosion of the Gentile apathy and ignorance crucial to the survival of Jewish rule.
Maybe Hitchens will stand up for his former acquaintance. As with Iraq, he seems quite comfortable supporting lost causes.
