Target-ing women

Despite their sponsorship of an entire New Yorker issue, despite the snazzy-for-a-chain style, yes, despite its difficult to comprehend big-box hipster status, we will be waving goodbye to Target.

They've allowed their pharmacists to fall down on the job and refuse to dispense emergency contraceptives to women while: "The national headquarters of Target has not responded to three PPFA [Planned Parenthood Federation of America] attempts to clarify its policy on pharmacist refusals."

"[A 26-year-old Missouri woman] was told that she could go to a local Walgreens instead." Perhaps, perhaps not.
