Gainfully employed again

Yes, I have a new full-time gig as a staff writer-but-mysteriously-titled-Senior Editor at In These Times, a national print magazine out of Chicago. I happily get to stay in the less-windy climes of San Francisco but still work with the charming, very smart folks over at ITT.

While a salary is nice, I'm also relieved to the prospect of having an alternative measure of my competence than the abysmal traffic reports that land in my In Box every Monday. Nothing like a day job to legitimize rank amateurism.

As for the blog, my very select audience can rest assured that I plan to continue to embrace failure -- if only because even disappointment deserves a hug, dammit!

P.S.: Here's my overdue review of James Surowiecki's "The Wisdom of Crowds": umm, f*** off.

Understand the importance of honest news ?

So do we.

The past year has been the most arduous of our lives. The Covid-19 pandemic continues to be catastrophic not only to our health - mental and physical - but also to the stability of millions of people. For all of us independent news organizations, it’s no exception.

We’ve covered everything thrown at us this past year and will continue to do so with your support. We’ve always understood the importance of calling out corruption, regardless of political affiliation.

We need your support in this difficult time. Every reader contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference in allowing our newsroom to bring you the stories that matter, at a time when being informed is more important than ever. Invest with us.
