Cheney & Libby
Get your Plamegate fix [HERE].
Evidence (yes, we all suspected this years ago) is increasingly pointing to Dick Cheney's office as the source of the prewar prevarications.
Murray Waas' latest in the National Journal, posted after midnight, charges that, against their lawyers' advice, Cheney and Libby "decided to withhold crucial documents from the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2004 when the panel was investigating the use of pre-war intelligence that erroneously concluded Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction."
Or: they lied to promote the war.
Waas' sources tell him that portions of Colin Powell's infamous UN speech written by Libby were withheld from the Senate as well as the presidential daily briefings on Iraq, which Waas describes as: "a written summary of intelligence information and analysis provided by the CIA to the president."
