Queen of vitriol

Michelle Malkin better watch her back because there's a new contender for Ann Coulter's tiara, and she's just a junior in UNC, Chapel Hill. Here's an excerpt from the column that got Jillian Bandes fired from the college newspaper:

I want all Arabs to be stripped naked and cavity-searched if they get within 100 yards of an airport. I don’t care if they’re being inconvenienced. I don’t care if it seems as though their rights are being violated. I care about my life. I care about the lives of my family and friends. [LINK]
Unlike her role model Ann Coulter, Ms. Bandes likes Arabs, whom she describes as "the brightest, kindest people I’ve ever met" or misquoted, apparently. And that's the reason why she was fired -- for misleading her sources and not for vilifying their entire community.

It would explain why the Arabs quoted in her column approve so whole-heartedly of becoming the target of blatant discrimination. Example: "(Racial profiling) really doesn’t bother me," said Sherief Khaki, a first-generation Egyptian-American and representative of the UNC-CH Arabic Club. "So a couple of hours are wasted. Big deal."

C'mon, what's a little wishful reporting in the pursuit of personal safety. A girl can always dream, can't she?
