A legion of flip-floppers

Last week Peek posted an item remarking on the American Legion's fierce opposition to protests of the Iraq War claiming, in cookie cutter fashion, that: "Public protests against the war...only provide aid and comfort to our enemies."

Curious about the consistency of the Legion's approach to such matters Billmon uncovered an artifact critiquing American involvement in Yugoslavia. It begins:


"Dear Mr. President:

The American Legion, a wartime veterans organization of nearly three-million members, urges the immediate withdrawal of American troops participating in 'Operation Allied Force.'
