The National Republican Congressional Committee is mad at Democratic candidate Paul Hackett for what he said in a USA TODAY article that ran yesterday: "I've said that I don't like the son-of-a-bÃ¢â‚¬â€Ã¢â‚¬â€ that lives in the White House but I'd put my life on the line for him." The NRCC's response: to dump more than $500,000 into a TV ad campaign attacking Hackett. In the words of Republican committee spokesman Carl Forti, "we decided to bury him."
