Get real, Hiltons
Uh-oh. The Hilton family is going to be on Larry King Live tonight discussing "what it's really like being a Hilton."
Now that Kathy Hilton's jumped into the limelight with her scary new reality show, which coverts normal people into snobby high-society suck-ups, maybe they can explain "why the hell people care so much about this family." Paris manages to keep up the antics enough to appear in the New York Times entertainment section regularly. But other than being rich slobs, what is their point? They don't seem to be doing anything redeeming or worthwhile with their time in the spotlight -- they're too busy talking about how rich and privileged they are and rubbing it into working America's face.
Maybe it's this country's continuing fascination with blondes. Maybe we have nothing better to do. What I really want to see is the Hiltons on Morgan Spurlock's new reality show on FX. They could spend 30 days doing what he and his girlfriend did -- working minimum-wage jobs and living the lifestyle of the working-class poor. That'd give them a dose of reality.
