DARE! to keep recruiters away from your kid

In a slick and sleazy series of moves, the Bush administration managed to both bury and enhance its recruitment efforts beneath the limp and ineffectual No Child Left Behind Act. Look at the evidence, then whip out your newfound Intelligent Design principle: This is too complex a plan to have occurred naturally -- there must have been a designer.

You have the intersection of two, largely unrelated policies/conditions; a grand design to advance American military dominance across the globe while polling showed that voting parents wanted something done about the state of public schools which, for the most part, were going from bad to worse.

Voilá: Tack a little clause onto the NCLB act and it becomes the No Military Recruiter Left Behind Act.

What many don't realize is that clause #9528 requires public schools (or any "local educational agency receiving assistance under this Act") to provide military recruiters with students' information -- including name, phone # and address.

Or: In the name of improving the schools you keep them crappy while simultaneously providing unemployable students' information to recruiters. Below, via Military Free Zone, is the form to fill out should you want to block recruiters from your child's information (take one and use this link [right click and choose "copy"] to pass this post on to friends, family, and everyone you know who has a child):
