AlterNet's New Look
It's amazing how quickly media is changing; sometimes the amount of information out there can feel staggering. What should you read? How often? How much? It's AlterNet's aim to keep you informed and engaged, while at the same time help you navigate a world brimming over with news and information.
To that end, we've developed a new look that improves on our clarity and ease of navigation. Our design director, Michael Gharabiklou, has managed the project and wisely interwoven the new with the tried-and-true. (If you're curious about some of the other folks behind AlterNet's facelift, visit our new staff page.) Look for worldwide news headlines in the upper-left corner, biweekly podcasts, and new audio and video features. We've also updated our blogs; you'll find the smart, provocative voices of Lakshmi Chaudhry and Steve Pizzo, as well as the AlterNet editors who will be blogging throughout the day in The Mix.
There will be new material on AlterNet virtually every hour -- so come visit any time. Along with the visual changes, of course, will be the lively mix of articles you've come to count on and pass on to your friends and colleagues.
Increasingly our media world is two-way, with readers interacting with writers and editors. We recently added space for reader comments following our articles and blogs, and we've seen dozens, sometimes hundreds of insightful comments. Your commentary on topics like Wal-Mart and abortion counseling have even been turned into articles of their own.
We hope you'll continue to share your thoughts with us. Write to us at email@example.com.
