Rumsfeld 'knew or should've known' (video)
May 13, 2005
Janis Karpinski, the officer in charge of Abu Ghraib and a number of other prisons, dropped a few bombs on Nightline last night. In a nutshell: national guard & reserves are second-class; she took the fall for Abu Ghraib; Rumsfeld's policy was that "we" needed to operate the way the terrorists do and that it doesn't matter if we're holding 15,000 innocent Iraqis, we're winning this war; and to Koppel's question as to whether Rumsfeld "knew or should've known" what was going on at Abu Ghraib, she replies, "well, absolutely."
