PBS trolling for celebrity-conscious conservatives?

News & Politics

With quotes that sound like a screentest for Dumb and Dumber, the new PBS prez appears to be tilting the corporation rightward. After commenting that he doesn't know why his predecessor left (despite the fact that it came suddenly and on the heels of a PBS-funded program that included lesbians), he: "likens 'The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer' to Shakespeare... it is just 'slow. ... Sometimes I really just want a People magazine, and often that is in the evening, after a hard day.'" (Editor & Publisher)
