"There’s no such thing as the United Nations," and: "If the U.N. secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference." Asking John Bolton, the man behind these classy quotes, to be official UN ambassador to the UN is like appointing Jesse Helms to head a civil rights commission. But then international cooperation has seldom topped the Republican list of things to accomplish.
