Bob Somerby details the process by which GOP senator Judd Gregg's truth-stretching in Roll Call becomes George Will's syndicated lie in the Washington Post -- and at least 7 other papers from Biloxi to Duluth. "Like so many other Republicans," Somerby writes," Gregg was looking for a way to pretend that Social Security’s day of reckoning was disturbingly near at hand."
