Bush's privatization scheme is failing so miserably that even the rarefied crowd at a pre-screened "townhall" meeting have to be misquoted to get some folksy amens -- you just pull the relevant parts from their quote. So the quote: "I believe it needs improved [sic]... But nothing of the nature of what is being talked about in Washington,” becomes, through the magic of editing: "I believe [Social Security] needs improved [sic]." And voila, a soggy condemnation becomes a sunny endorsement! (Think Progress)
