The US is, as a matter of policy, sending suspects to places where torture is legal. The Times took its time (and got scooped over a period of months by the Wash Post & the SF Chron) but it finally got the story. Except. Except it forgot to mention that Democracy-threatening little adjunct: that Bush is invoking executive privilege to prevent any legal challenges to this profoundly un-American and dangerous policy.
