Haiti, one year late

Months after former Sec. of State Colin Powell's pronunciation that we would "bring democracy, prosperity and hope to the people of Haiti," it's apparent that neither freedom nor aid are on the march. The U.S.-backed government is struggling for legitimacy, the promised aid has yet to arrive, and, according to the Center for the Study of Human Rights: "There has been no investment in dialogue to end the violence.” (Think Progress)
