In response to the outrageous fact that America has the highest incarceration rate in the world, one architect has launched a campaign to boycott the design of prisons. In an interview on lux lotus, Raphael Sperry comments: "I had a conversation with a person who works at an architecture firm that has designed a federal prison that included a death row. And I asked this guy about designing the execution chamber. That’s pretty heavy. And he told me, 'It’s just a room.'" (lux lotus)
