(First, a note about today's late posting: Congratulations, you've witnessed PEEK's first anomaly. There were kinks to work out [not to mention the glitz, hiphooray and ballyhoo to contend with...] but it looks like favorable winds and smooth sailing ahead. From here on out PEEK rises with the sun and mixes metaphors like there's no tomorrow...) It's with heavy heart that I convey the news of Hunter S. Thompson's suicide. The insane, brilliant, and ever willing journalist was found dead yesterday from a self-inflicted gunshot. He was 67. Digby writes: "rest in peace you brilliant goddamned beast" and contends that Thompson was far more optimistic than he's given credit for.
