Black days have already left their scourge
All because of this godforsaken war
Dead is all honesty, gone is the truth;
Left void is everything sacred I once knew.

When the massacre ends we'll only push further;
But how legal‚ can one ever make a murder?
Already is history bogged down with revision;
But how many dead lives are justified by suspicion?

Tanks with propaganda, I see them all
An evil regime will soon see it's fall‚;
But what about that dictator who fouled an election;
A penchant for war, and a bloody predilection;

What happened to that America of which I once read
In classrooms, in textbooks, when I was just a kid?
A country of peace and democracy? I must have been in denial;
None more than the naive musings of an even more naive child.
