Rockie Horoscope 42

If you know your ascendant, read it too.

GENERAL FORECAST: Lively and loving, and if you're lucky, lascivious, too. After the dutiful sun-Saturn sextile on Thursday brings you down to earth, you're ready to indulge in the divine passion of a Venus-Pluto trine, Friday's gifts from the gods of attraction and desire. This is a hot connection, made more so because it takes place in Leo and Sagittarius, spirited fire signs. To get this excited again about sex, death and the occult and you'll have to wait until the two planets meet around Halloween. On Saturday at 5:43 a.m. PDT, solar Leo begins; so should the celebrations. If things are looking up, if your optimism and enthusiasm are growing by leaps and bounds, thank the rare and rarefied trine between philosophical Jupiter and idealistic Neptune, exact next Thursday morning, in intelligent, articulate air signs. Later that day, while the sun opposes Neptune, you'll be flying high on the natch. Please, no "one for the road."

ARIES (March 20-April 19)

Neptunian pursuits, such as film, music and fishing, get a huge boost from generous Jupiter. Whether you'll be earning/spending lots of money or expanding your reputation makes little difference; it's all to the good. The rewarding trine between these planets repeats in December, and then again in April, so if you're launching a project, e.g., incorporating a tax-free religion, this is a good time to go ahead. However, Venus and Pluto, love and lust, might distract highly sexed Rams born at the end of March from the task at hand.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Intense feelings of attraction and desire can overrule anything else you've got going. Do you succumb to the tune your heartstrings are plucking or do you get philosophical and stoned out of your gourd? What a dilemma! By clever time management, you can do both. Fill up on the joys of sex and romance your Venus ruler provides this weekend, then pig out on your imagination and the interesting ideas that will tweak it during the week. Your list of "must do in this lifetime" could be radically rearranged by next Friday.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

A grand passion that is usually found only in grand opera can grip you this week, so don't be surprised if you're throwing caution to the wind and going for broke. What do you have to lose? That answer comes midweek when too much of a good thing (Jupiter in Gemini) loosens your grip on mutual fund reality and other financial figments of your wishful-thinking. Although your rational Mercury ruler is inching forward, it won't be much help right now. Better to dream the impossible dream, then figure out how to follow it.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Old acquaintances with ears to the ground and established roots in their respective fields can be very helpful. You need only ask for their support and it's yours. This would be an excellent time to attend a summer seminar or network at a camp reunion. But if you would rather indulge in risky fun and sex games, and pay dearly for the privilege, this is the weekend to do that too. Whether you're being practical or pursuing a particular passion, everyone, yourself included, winds up sitting pretty.

LEO(July 23-August 22)

You may start out with plans to be sensible this weekend, or at least, respectful of your elders and family ties, but the pleasure principle, at its peak on Friday, will swiftly erase those obligations. Sensuous Venus in your sign reaches out to sexy Pluto and rearranges your priorities. Instead of the tried-and-true, what you really crave deep down is a powerful experience that can totally transform you. Midweek, when imaginative Neptune and the Leo sun draw on your creative impulse, fantasies reign supreme.

VIRGO (August 23-September 22)

It's a no-brainer. Your rational mind doesn't have much to do this week, since thinking is not high on the astrological agenda. Nonethelss, sensation is. The purely physical may come wrapped in pretty presents and romantic gestures, but what you may reach for, while Venus allies with the Pluto powerhouse, is a regeneration of spirit as well. Midweek, as magnanimous Jupiter in your career midheaven trines Neptune, you can become divinely inspired. Have faith, there is no higher vibe that what they are beaming at you.

LIBRA (September 23-October 22)

Gearing up for your season in the sun? Planetary action at the top of your solar chart later in the week points to success in the workplace and deception at home. However, this is also the stuff that scandal is made of, so if you are not immune to that kind of popularity, be careful when your Venus ruler and secretive Pluto connect this weekend. One romantic tryst too many and you could turn into grist for the rumor mill. On the other end, Librans born around September 27 could become candidates for sainthood.

SCORPIO (October 23-November 21)

A relatively rare event, Venus blowing kisses to your Pluto co-ruler, occurs on Friday, therefore take advantage of all the pretty things, sweet sentiments and popularity that comes your way. You're in the public eye, so be discreet about what you're doing and with whom. Eagles born before Halloween may be transformed into lovey doves while they are drawn to the mystical, magical realm of Neptune midweek. This is high-falutin' stuff and as pure as the driven snow. Keep it that way. No writhing on the ground or mud- slinging.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21)

More purple. What is as holy, as inspirational as a Jupiter-Neptune trine? What planetary aspect makes your vision more exquisite, humane and spiritual? This rara avis of an event is exact on the 27th, but you'll be feeling the seventh ray at work on your consciousness way before then. With your Jupiter ruler in Gemini and Neptune in Aquarius, there's also good chance you can make good money from an idea whose time has come. But if all you need is some sex and soul, that you'll get this weekend, too.

CAPRICORN (December 22-January 20)

It might not be dramatic enough to write home about, but the sun's favorable sextile to your Saturn ruler can revitalize a creative project, bring a willing partner to the table or correct the imbalance in a traditional "love and marriage" type of relationship. Then you can move on to divine inspiration and out-of-this-world optimism, an over-the-top attitude that you would love to embrace if only you weren't so darn pragmatic. Because this enthusiasm is being generated by a vision of the future, try to get an in-depth look.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 18)

You're lit. That's astrologese for having many points in your chart going off at once. Artistic, loving Venus in your Leo house of partners is rewarded by powerful Pluto in your midheaven. Maybe your mate is having an affair with a bigshot? Maybe she's about to sign with the WNBA? Either way, you'll benefit from their conection. Meanwhile the higher vibe you've been emitting since Neptune entered Aquarius is about to be magnified by expansive Jupiter. This connection lifts you out of the mundane, right into the mystic.

PISCES (February 19-March 19)

Back in the old days, before Neptune was discovered in 1846, Jupiter ruled Pisces. So you can imagine the effect a rewarding trine between these planets can have on you when they align on the 27th. Boy will you feel good -- inspired by a vision, full of faith and pure of heart! Friends can show up in this rosy picture, but their presence might mislead you or throw your lover off his or her rhythm. Or maybe not. There's a lot of creative energy and high hopes being exchanged. Take them beyond the realm of fantasy.
