Rockie Horoscope 34?

Editors: Rockie is going on vacation soon, and instead of front-loading horoscopes she has offered a few from her archive. As you can see from the note below, she'll be back on track in two weeks. She sent the following message to AlterNet on May 17:

Hi,

I'll be cruising the Mediterranean, from 5/23 to 6/8. There will be no column during that time. I am currently writing 6/9-15 which I hope to send shortly. If you like, you can run my first two columns of the new year.

Please add this note: "These are not current forecasts. Rockie is on vacation, but she thought you would like to see how her predictions for the new millennium are unfolding. Do they bear any resemblance to your life as you know it?"

Rockie Horoscope 34

May 26-June 1, 2000 (formerly December 31-January 6, 2000). If you know your ascendant, read it too.

GENERAL FORECAST: What are we to make of the first Chiron-Pluto conjunction since July 1941, exact on December 30th at 2:39 a.m. PST at 11+ Sagittarius? Back then Hitler was about to invade Russia and Japan, already at war with China, was planning the attack on Pearl Harbor. Will the fact that the meeting of these powerful forces takes place in educational, multi-national Sag instead of imperialistic, egocentric Leo lessen the forthcoming horror show? Aren't Chiron, the Centaur who taught the gods and heroes the arts of war, music and herbal medicine, and Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, supposed to be healing, transformational energies? So, what are YOU doing New Year's Eve? I'm anticipating power failures, not from Y2K glitches or terrorist attacks, but because our planetary consciousness needs a cathartic to clean out the crap that has accumulated since the last conjunction. We get to begin all over again, and that is what makes the year 2000 significant, that and the Taurus line-up of planets in May. P.S. Militant Mars crosses the USA's natal moon in Aquarius as the calendar changes. Be cool. No guns.

ARIES (March 20-April 19)

Pluto and Chiron, the healing authorities, meeting in your eighth house of sex, transformation and other people's resources can invigorate your investments and intensify your sex life, but more likely, they'll set you on a course of discovery into the mysterious nature of creativity. Which is fine if you are a cosmobiologist, but what if you are just a Ram looking to jam? Get through New Year's without causing a ruckus; after your Mars ruler slips into musical, painterly Pisces on Monday you'll be calmer and collected.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

All the earthy Capricorn energy of the Christmas-New Year holiday magnifies your finer taurine qualities. Those shall remain nameless, but what is obviously being rewarded (as the sun trines Saturn in your sign this weekend) is your amazing ability to stick-to-it, to be patient and parental in a supportive, nurturing way even when the obligations weigh you down and the work piles up. Bigger, better, brighter things will come while benevolent Jupiter transits Taurus from mid-March through June. Happy 2000.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

What could become the most significant transformation of the New Year is not the numbers rolling over from 99 to 00, but how you approach partnership matters. As powerful Pluto and Chiron, the Wounded Healer, meet in your Sagittarius marriage house, relationships with significant others, such as allies, enemies and attorneys, will undergo a profoundly cathartic process. Will you reunite with your ex? Probably not, but you could find a way to make non-sexual intercourse even more meaningful than it has been. Well, why not the other kind, too?

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

If the Moon Child found the winter solstice and the Cancer full moon magical, then you're probably vibrating in anticipation of, not the New Year -- everyone is doing that -- but the Capricorn new moon on the 6th. And following that, the first total lunar eclipse of the year on the 20th and 21st. For a welcome change, this eclipse is visible in North America, Mexico and Central America. Why not sweep your lover or spouse away so that the romantic, creative changes brought on by this week's Chiron-Pluto conjunction can take root in a magical place? Not Acapulco, it's too guerrero-like.

LEO (July 23-August 22)

For all the early August birthdates who have been daunted by restrictive Saturn in your Taurus midheaven, the guy who has been giving you grief and making you anxious, good news. Regenerative Pluto and Chiron -- the "Thanks, but I've already been wounded" Healer -- conjunct in spirited Sagittarius, the sign that supports fiery Leo energy and very much wants to see you smiling. Thursday's new moon in disciplined Capricorn signals a new approach to work and health, which is why Leos manage to keep New Year's resolutions longer than the rest of us.

VIRGO (August 23-September 22)

Virgos born in August experience the intensely creative power of the Chiron-Pluto conjunction in their solar fourth house, the place from whence you came, DNA-wise. Genetic mapping, the family tree and real estate holdings could be major factors in your development over the next 50 odd years. Those born in September have third house issues to deal with, which includes reconciling with your siblings, taking your education to a higher or deeper level and writing your heart out. Other communication skills, e.g., sales and promotion, also undergo a transformation.

LIBRA (September 23-October 22)

FYI: No matter where you happen to be, the horoscope for the year 2000 has Libra on the ascendant and Capricorn on the nadir, the midnight point. Can we assume that peace, or the attempt to attain it, shall rule the planet and love, another Libran-Venusian quality, shall rule the stars? And let's hope that the merger of Chiron and Pluto, awesome healing energies, in your second house of money and values, will vastly improve your financial situation, and that you will have resources at your disposal that, until now, you only imagined were attainable. Happy New Year.

SCORPIO (October 23-November 21)

October, i.e., early, Scorpions share a resurrected financial forecast with Librans, read it; the others will have to find another, more personal and probably more physical first house area of their life to transform. Hey, does that mean it's time for a nip-and-tuck job? Such potent Plutonic energy at the new year changeover suggests that you'll be a more prominent factor in 2000 yourself, and if not yet able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, certainly capable of squeezing into cramped quarters and ditching the suit.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21)

Eleven Sagittarius is the magic number. Those of us who have it placed on our horoscopes get to be magically transformed by the mega-merger of Chiron, the Centaur who was put in the heavens as the constellation Sagittarius, and Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, Death and Resurrection. What needs to be shed like old snakeskin, so that you can emerge fresh as a newborn babe? What is it about yourself that you can no longer endure? The other Archers should set their sights on finances during the Capricorn new moon on the 6th; that's when Seers see dollars and sense.

CAPRICORN (December 22-January 20)

Much birthday bliss and blessings, or reasonable facsimiles of same. Most Goats will take, or just as likely leave, the Pluto-Chiron powerhouse in your house of groups and social goals at face value. Use these transformers when you want to effect a change; ignore their energy if you don't. They won't have a major effect until Chiron gets to Capricorn in 2002. However, the Capricorn new moon on the 6th is another matter; the first new moon of the new year, century, etc., reflects the rewarding trine between the Cap sun and your Saturn ruler on January 1. Envision more of those goodies.

AQUARIUS (January 21-February 18)

Mars, at the tail end of Aquarius, crosses the USA moon in Aquarius (which is why America is such a melting pot) on New Year's Eve. Now for some that is cause for celebration, but not for those who normally don't shoot bullets at midnight. So if things are getting too martial for you, if those terrorist warnings are curbing your party plans, lay back and relax. Mars moves to Pisces on the 3rd and takes your aggressions with it. Meanwhile, consider what a splendid career lies ahead thanks to the potent, and rare, Chiron-Pluto conjunction in your midheaven.

PISCES (February 19-March 19)

Just when you need another dose of spirituality and aesthetic awareness, you get it. On Sunday the 2nd, Venus and your Neptune ruler align in a harmonious sextile. Of course harmony is good for musicians, but even if you can't carry a tune, you'll benefit from the love and loveliness inherent in this supportive aspect. The heavy-duty Chiron-Pluto merger could scare you a bit, especially if 11 Pisces is prominent on your chart. That's a challenge -- not an invitation -- to change, to heal what hurts and start fulfilling your goals for this life time.
