DURST: Media and Democracy

Here's the thing about The Left. They mean well. They really do. They are only angry and screaming at themselves for their own damn good. And it's impossible for them to compromise because THEY ARE CORRECT. And someday we will all see that. The Right doesn't fractionalize like this because they have a common interest to protect: the bottom line. Whereas The Left is narrowly focused on that tiny sliver of concern known as the fate of the human race. At the recent Media & Democracy Congress II, here in New York, all hell broke out for no apparent reason every time you turned around. People were attacked for their competency (excess not lack), for the clothes they wore and for the speed of their speech. I saw a speaker interrupted by a heckler who yelled out "Talk slower", and two seconds later another spectator shouted, "Listen faster". One guy hollered out "Shut down the Internet" to God knows who for God knows why. But the Congress was a major success. Many contacts were made, adult amber beverages were drunk and agendas were furthered. For one, a consensus was reached: that Media and Democracy are not mutually exclusive terms. And the motto for the Media & Democracy Congress III was established: "No whining", which is expected to suppress attendance. Will Durst always heard the Revolution wouldn't be televised and now he knows why.
