President Clinton spoke to 700 young progressive students from universities around the country at the Campus Progress' first National Student Conference in Washington, D.C. on July 13. The conference, organized by the Center for American Progress, brought together dedicated student organizers to build leadership skills and strengthen a progressive vision through workshops and speeches like Bill Clinton's.

In typical Clinton fashion -- deeply intellectual yet accessible -- he discussed four big questions progressives need to answer for themselves and others in order to win this country back. And as a leader with substantial experience in the field, he couldn't resist the temptation to answer them all while at it. President Clinton shared his insights about the fundamental nature of the modern world, progressive values, the role of government and what changes progressives need to make in their tactics. (Hint: be tough, stop whining, speak from the heart, and talk to the so-called red America.)

Bill Clinton? Wha? We're learning from Bill Clinton, are we? The same Bill Clinton who:

1. Kept Iraq under sanctions, killing over a million people
2. Bombed Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and The Sudan
3. Signed NAFTA
4. Did work on the Israeli / Palestinian peace process which totally sold out the Palestinians
5. Merrily dealt arms to Turkey while they killed tens of thousands of Kurds
6. Continued support for the mass-murdering General Suharto in Indeonesia

...I mean I know he's a big name and all, but is this really the sort of person we want to be associating with?

Wait, did Clinton write this article? If so, he's definetly refering to himself in the third person.

Why in the world would Bill Clinton even want to build a progressive movement? The word "progressive" has enough strain on it already, referring to a range from anarchists to mainstream liberals, without adding the lame Bush Lite center-right types, too.

So you complain about Bush's regime, then you complain about Clinton. Clinton did more for the United States than Bush ever did or ever will. He protected the environment from greedy corporations, protected gay rights, womens' rights, and minority rights. But all you can do is whine about the bad crap he did in the 8 years he was in office. Bush does more of the bad in ONE DAY than Clinton ever did in his 8 years. You can't have it all, people. I have a feeling you are the ones who voted for Nader and gave the election to Bush. Thanks a lot. We all appreciate it.
