Jon Stewart helped clarify the whole Obamacare scenario last night on the Daily Show, but before he did so managed to make a masturbation joke, saying that Steve Jobs invented masturbation in 1981. (Watch the clip to see what he called it.)
But the more serious subject of the segment began with the statement: Americans like freedom! We don't like being told what to do whether by a king or the government. That's why things like seatbelt laws and having to get rid of slaves met with such resistance."
Then he played a clip of an anti-Obamacare ad that was almost as creepy as the one trying to scare women out of being tested for cervical cancer, where an Uncle Sam pops up between legs held aloft in stirrups. The one Stewart played featured an ominous-looking doctor peddling something called "The Obamacare Survival Guide."
"Thank you Dr. Kervorkian look-alike," Stewart quipped, fairly accurately.
The comedian went on to layout all the loopholes to Obamacare. Corporations can pay a $2,000 penalty, rather than do the right thing and pay $10,000 per employee for healthcare. Or they can just their hours to a hair under 30, like Subway does.
